“The site “Tracing the Roots of the Ryukyu Kingdom - Machimaai Tours” (hereinafter, “this site”), which is operated by Merit Trading K.K. and okicom co., ltd., is a monitor tour entry information site for the “Explore Ryukyu Kingdom’s History and Culture! Kuninda - the Town Connecting Ryukyu and Asia - Machimaai Project”. With Japan fully reopening to overseas tourism, by allowing passengers of cruise ships calling at Naha Port to experience “Machimaai Tours” around Kume, Naha, which still vividly conveys vestiges and culture of the Ryukyu Kingdom, we hope to promote greater awareness of Okinawa’s culture, which has been uniquely influenced by Asia. In doing so, we hope to make some contribution to boosting tourism and consumption by overseas visitors in regional areas.
